"Angrez ho tum toh!"

This is something I never came across earlier in life, but somethings happen for the first time.

People, at my age, often say that the accent with which a person speaks is a prerequisite for judging his/her characteristics. The fact is that it does create an impression of a person in the minds of the people watching him/her speak. Just like people with fake accents are very much likely to have fake personalities and are most likely to be multi-faceted.

Anyway, the incident that made me think about this was that M sir today com(pli)mented me, saying, "angrez ho tum toh!!". All I said was "Sir, I am from R1". (Probably it sounded like "sirr, I am from arrr1")

May be I have an accent or, I don't. I seriously dunno. May be because I have loads of cousins who speak in their accented way. Probably, I grasped their accent and started talking in such a manner. May be, may be not.

May be, M sir speaks accented english and because I have a tendency to adapt to the surroundings, I too start speaking in an accented way unknowingly! I don't know! It is probably the people around me who know it better.

I have never ever thought about THIS but this incident triggered me to do so. Quite funny that those words are still in my head, "angrez ho tum toh!!"

And I'm still amused over this com(pli)ment.

Ad lib Eloquence - Revisted

I came across "ad lib eloquence" on artnavy's blog ages ago but this is not exactly the same thing....I've just named a few of the advertisements that i can recollect right now and mentioned my views about them....

1) The new KBC 3 ad:- The one in which there is this little boy (acting as baby SRK) who does all that cute mischief . the whole ad of about 2 min was soo cute and especially the way he said mooli ke paranthe...

2) The sony bravia LCD TV:- It's really breathtaking to see the thousands of crazy balls moving around, here and there. They look just so damn amazing. What would it be like if you were supposed to be amidst of those balls?

3) Hutch Ads:- Almost all the hutch ads with their cute trademark pug. The ads seem to be so warm and cute! And i love that song , "U and I...in this beautiful world..."

4) LG household goods:- The recent ads which are being aired since the last year i guess are really nice. Also, the "for her he'll keep, ...." series is just so cute. Though no one would remember that.

5) Ford fiesta:- The first introductory ad of ford fiesta. I loved that fully gadgeted room with the LCD TV, alarm clock and other stuff. That room was really cool.

6) St. gobain:- Those ads are so creative in their own respect. How did they just manage to think of such cool situations?

7) Cadbury Dairy Milk Ads:- I still remember those dairy milk ads with the jingles "kitna mazaa aaye re, duniya dairy milk ban jaye re....". yummy!!

8) Mortein Ad:- The mortein ad in which there was this mosquito named Louie. I simply loved that jingle, "machchar hoon main...louie mera naam..."

9) Britannia:- That little boy with long hair (with dravid, tendulkar and ganguly) was so cute.

10) Diamonds are forever Ad:- That new ad staring rahul khanna as the husband is such a sweet ad. Though it's aired rarely, yet it's so nice. It really brings a smile to your face.:-)

11) Tata Sky Ad:- The ad in which a man wearing a dress made up of grass is in the cricket field. I still can't understand how the hell do these people get such weird ideas to promote their products? LOL

12) Garnier fructis styling gel:- It makes me wonder - if on using it, your hair become so hard that you can move boards, then how the hell would you make your hair get back to normal by using just water???

Change

"Change" is the transition occurring when something being same becomes different.

We often come across changes in our everyday lives. Change can be in the form of anything - Weather, atmosphere, nature, colours, sizes, etc. If all these change, then how can "people" remain behind. Ofcourse, they change too. The way they eat, the way they live and the way they treat others!

Changes can be temporary or permanent but it's really difficult to check out the change of heart that people undergo. It can be temporary or permanent. You never know.

My favourite 9 (actually more) scenes...

Though not tagged specifically but I'm taking up this open tag which was up on many blogs that i visited a few weeks back. Huh. Quite late for this! Finally got the time to sit and think about it. So, here are some of my favourite scenes from various movies...

1. Dil Chahta Hai :- The phone coversation between Sameer(Saif Ali Khan) and Priya(Suchitra Pillai) in which she keeps scolding him and his dialogues are something like," haan main......magar tum....lekin woh.....kabse main......akash ke ghar."

2. Kal Ho Naa Ho :- The conversation (during SRK's intro) between sweetu(Delnaaz Paul) and Naina(Preity Zinta) which ends up when sweetu says, "doosri shaadi kar lungi, aur kya!"
Also, a few scenes like those between Aman and Naina(when SRK lies that he is already married) & those between Aman(SRK) and Rohit(Saif) - "welcome to lala land" and " 6 din ladki in" .

3. Chachi 420 :- That scene when Kamal hassan is in his house with paresh rawal and it is shown that chachi falls in the bathroom. The comic timing of kamal hassan, while saying those dialogues in 2 styles is amazing.

4. Jaane bhi do yaaron :- Those chaotic scenes when someone runs after the other and stuff. Also, that draupadi cheer haran scene.

5. Hum Tum :- The scenes between the two animated characters hum and tum.

6. Ek Ajnabee :- The scenes between the little girl Anamika and her bodyguard(Amitabh) - especially the ones when the song "tere liye meri saansen" is played in the background.

7. Lion king :- Cute scenes between Simba and his father and also the scene, when simba's father dies.

8. Finding Nemo :- The scene with sea turtles, especially crush. Also, those stupid scenes of Dory who suffered from short-term memory loss.

9. Masoom :- The old Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi one. The scene in which the girl(Urmila as child actress) and her little sister are fighting over the dining table, I love that dialogue which the little one says, "you gajar, you mooli, you tinda, you stupid." I still say that sometimes.
Also, the song "lakdi ki kaathi" picturising the 2 sisters and their brother(Jugal Hansraj).

10. Baby's Day Out :- The scenes of that cute little baby(Bink) with the kidnappers and also, with the huge gorilla in the cage at the zoo.

11. Dunston Check's in

12. Home Alone 1,2,3 - All those hilarious scenes!

LiFe - 1

Haven't blogged for a long time. So, this is something i wanted to write about, simply on my own. Felt like blabbering little about what probably life is!

"LIFE"- this specific word is such that, on asking all the people in this world, you would never find a common opinion about it. A little child would find life interesting, an adolescent would find it freaky, yet irritating, a middle-aged person would find it to be something to struggle with, and an old person would find life wholsesome and fulfilling.

You yourself, give it a thought...What are the things that cross your mind when you think about "LIFE"? For me, there are loads of things.

Life is such that you can never expect anything from it. If you expect something, you find that your expectations are never fulfilled and when you don't expect anything, you find that you get what you had never ever thought of. Also, if you set up your mind that you would take life the way it comes, you would just find it moving at it's own pace like a stream of water without asking anyone for directions. Simply going through it's own way, and even through the crevices in the rocks that come across it's way. It is simply amazing to think about the powerful role that "expectations" play in our "life".

Yet here's another strange thing about "life" and the strangest are the three phases - the past, the present and the future. The past is something which often disturbs your mindset and does not let you live to the fullest in the present. The present is something which involves just living that particular moment and how you react to any or everything during that little span of time. If you keep thinking about the unchanging past or the unpredictable future, you simply waste the present which soon also becomes the past and leaves nothing for the future.

Now, the other thing. You never know what the future has in store for you. Good or bad, better or worse, funny or humilating, safe or treacherous. It can be anything, either for your well-being or against you or probably, something which will affect you in no way!

Though complicated, yet true!!

P.S.: Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift. And that's why we call it present!!

Ways to tell if he's an idiot....

Well, I got this as an old file in my computer.
Anyway, here are some ways to tell if he's an idiot ....

  • He spends twenty minutes looking at an orange juice box because it said, "concentrate".
  • He puts lipstick on the forehead because he wanted to makeup his mind.
  • He gets stabbed in a shoot-out.
  • He sends a fax with a stamp on it.
  • He tries to drown a fish.
  • He trips over a cordless phone.
  • He takes a ruler to bed to see how long he slept.
  • At the bottom of the application where it says "Sign Here", he puts "Sagittarius".
  • He invents a solar powered flashlight.
  • He heard that 90% of all crimes occur around the home, so he moves.
  • He misses the No. 14 Bus, and takes the 7 twice instead.
  • He takes you to the airport and saw a sign that said, "Airport left", and he turned around and went home.
  • He got locked in a furniture shop but sleeps on the floor.
